5280 Live and Lordz Of Finesse are proud to announce the 2010 Urban Culture Collective of Denver on July 10th, 2010 featuring The Mighty 4 Breakdance Competition. The Urban Culture Collective (UCC) is a daylong festival showcasing the talent of today’s global hip-hop and urban culture movement. Partnering with the Biennial of The Americas, Lordz Of Finesse and the Denver Theatre District, this FREE event in Skyline Park on July 10th will be the largest celebration of urban culture in Colorado and the West.
Special guest appearances by Trac 2, Signtologist, Aby , DJ Chonz, DJ Vajra, DJ Ricky O, Paulskeee, Spoke In Wordz, and Dent.
Featured performances, demonstrations, and competitions will include breakdancing, beat boxing, live music, DJ competition, graffiti art, and fashion. Artists will be participating from around the globe, nation, and region. There are events for kids and adults so bring the whole family.
THE COMPETITION
Registration starts at 11:00a. This year’s Mighty 4 will feature three competitions:
• 3 vs 3 bboy/bgirl
• Popping
• 12 & under boy/bgirl
Bboys/Bgirls of each category will be battling it out for the prestigious “New York City BBoy Authority Award,” presented by Legendary Brox Bboys TRAC 2 and ABY! This award commemorates the five original BBoy crews of the Bronx, NY in the early to mid 70’s and is the FIRST TIME it has ever been presented.
The Battles will go on all day and our DJs will challenge each dancer to perform to several different styles of music.
